A Quick Fact: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees of 1996

On this day in 1996, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomed a handful of inductees, including David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Pete Seeger, the Velvet Underground, Tom Donahue, Jefferson Airplane, Little Willie John, and the Shirelles.

Artists who were responsible for inducting these bands included Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Patti Smith, and Stevie Wonder.
