Celebrating Keith Richards on His 79th Birthday!

Today, December 18. 2022, is the 79th birthday of none other than the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards!

Richards got his start as a musician in the early '60s after dropping out of Sidcup Art College, where he had spent most of his time learning how to play most of Chuck Berry's guitar solos rather than focusing on his work. He, Mick Jagger, and Brian Jones moved into a flat together that same year and performed cover songs as the Rolling Stones before their manager encouraged them to write original material in 1963. They found their major success after doing so, with Richards being one of the primary songwriters alongside Jagger.

On top of it being his birthday, it is also he and his wife, Patti Hansen's 39th wedding anniversary. They were married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 1983 and now reside in Weston, Connecticut.

Jones was still using the moniker of Elmo Lewis at the time and was working as a guitarist for Paul Jones, who was performing under his real name, P.P. Pond. Peace Sells: When John Lennon's Handwritten Lyrics for "Give Peace a Chance" Sold for Almost $800,000

In 2008, a piece of paper with the handwritten lyrics for the John Lennon-penned " Give Peace a Chance " sold for $790,000 at auction after being estimated to be worth about $400,000 or so. Credit: Christie's/The Canadian Press The owner, author Gail Renard was given the lyrics when she was sixteen years old by Lennon during he and Yoko Ono's bed-in against the Vietnam War at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, Canada. Renard was with them for all eight days, helping to keep fans and press controlled and looking after Ono's five-year-old daughter, Kyoko.
